PROGRAM DESCRIPTION – CHEERLEADING SPORT-STUDIES

The Sport-Studies Cheerleading Program is growing! Since 2010, it has been offered to students from Grades 7 to 11 (Secondary 1 to 5) at Polyvalente Nicolas-Gatineau (Commission scolaire des Draveurs). Mont-Bleu High School (Commission scolaire du Portage) joined the program in September 2014, and we are proud to announce that the program is now also offered at Du Dôme Elementary School.

Academic classes take place in the morning. Cheerleading training is a minimum of 15 hours per week, Monday to Friday in the afternoons. The program includes gymnastics, dance, healthy living habits, cheerleading technique and rules, stunts and pyramids, cardio, strength training, and flexibility.
Athletes are also placed on a competitive Spirit Cheer 07 team, which will participate in at least three competitions during the season.

The cost for the Cheerleading Sport-Studies Program is $2,450 + taxes.

Athletes will also have the option to participate in fundraisers throughout the year to help reduce competition and uniform-related fees.

Included:

  • 12.5+ hours/week of afternoon training from September to May

  • Free team placement on one of our pre-competitive or competitive teams (3 to 4.5 hours/week)

  • Gym rental, certified coaches, music, and access to all open gyms throughout the season

Not included:

  • Transportation, accommodations, and meals during events (parent’s responsibility)

  • Competition fees, uniform, and competition package

  • Choreography by professional choreographers (a fundraiser is planned for this)

  • Competition shoes (recommendations for stores will be provided)

  • Bus transportation to afternoon practices

Note: A fee difference applies if the athlete is selected for an elite team (5.5 hours/week)
